Armis Acquires Israeli Cybersecurity Firm Silk Security for $150M to Bolster AI-Driven Solutions
Founded just in 2022 Silk Security quickly made its mark in the cybersecurity field.
Armis, the Israeli-founded cybersecurity leader now headquartered in Palo Alto, has announced its acquisition of Silk Security, an Israeli cybersecurity company, for $150 million. This strategic move significantly enhances Armis' capabilities in AI-driven vulnerability prioritization and remediation through its advanced Armis Centrix™ platform.
Founded in 2022 by CEO Yoav Nathaniel, CTO Bar Katz, and CPO Or Priel, Silk Security quickly made its mark in the cybersecurity field. Despite its recent inception, Silk has raised $12.5 million from notable investors including Insight Partners, Falcon Fund, CrowdStrike, and Hetz Ventures. The integration of Silk's cutting-edge technologies into Armis' solutions will allow for a deeper consolidation and correlation of cybersecurity findings across an organization's entire attack surface, spanning on-premise devices to cloud, code, and application security tools.
Armis itself has a significant history of strategic growth and industry impact. In 2020, the company, renowned for its IoT security software, was acquired by U.S.-based Insight Partners in a cash deal valued at $1.1 billion. This acquisition by a major private equity firm marked a milestone in Armis' journey, emphasizing its substantial influence and innovation in cybersecurity solutions.
The recent acquisition of Silk Security aligns seamlessly with Armis’ strategy to offer end-to-end exposure management solutions. These solutions are designed to monitor and manage all assets and devices across an organization’s digital footprint, from the ground to the cloud. "The cybersecurity landscape requires robust, integrated solutions that can preemptively manage and neutralize threats," said the CEO of Armis. "Integrating Silk Security's technologies enhances our ability to provide a dynamic, real-time response to cyber threats."
Earlier this year, Armis expanded its capabilities with the acquisition of CTCI, enhancing its early warning systems through AI-driven insights from dark web activity and strategic intelligence gathering. Now, with Silk Security’s innovative cloud and code protection technology, Armis further empowers organizations to streamline remediation processes effectively, addressing the myriad of security challenges they face daily.
This acquisition is more than a transaction; it's a strategic enhancement that signifies a major leap forward for the cybersecurity industry. It highlights the critical role of AI in fortifying digital defenses and exemplifies a holistic, lifecycle approach to managing cyber threats. For global organizations, the integration of Silk into Armis marks a transition towards more resilient, efficient, and comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, capable of combating the increasingly sophisticated digital threats of today’s era.
