Yesterday (Wednesday), Major General Yaron Finkelman, Commander of the Southern Command, convened a meeting with Major General Ghassan Alian, Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), and officers from COGAT in the Southern Command. The purpose of the meeting was to bolster coordination and cooperation for the facilitation of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. Representatives from various international organizations, including U.N. agencies, the International Red Cross, IMC, USAID, and the U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Humanitarian Issues, were also in attendance.
During the meeting, Major General Finkelman provided an operational situational assessment, while Major General Alian outlined the IDF's humanitarian aid operations. Additionally, recent initiatives aimed at strengthening and expediting the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip were discussed.

Since the onset of the conflict, an impressive 22,000 trucks, laden with over 400,000 tons of humanitarian aid, have traversed the Kerem Shalom and Nitzana border crossings into the Gaza Strip following rigorous security screenings. Additionally, approximately 3,961 food packages have been air-dropped across 64 missions to distribution points within Gaza. Yesterday alone, 298 humanitarian aid trucks successfully crossed through the designated border crossings, complemented by the air delivery of 353 food packages.
Furthermore, yesterday also saw the Coordination and Liaison Administration for the Gaza Strip, in conjunction with the IDF Southern Command, coordinating the entry of 28 trucks laden with humanitarian aid to the northern region of Gaza.
