During an IDF operation in eastern Rafah on Saturday, terrorists were identified within UNRWA's central logistics compound, alongside UN vehicles. COGAT Calls for Urgent Investigation
Following the incident, representatives from the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) communicated the findings to senior officials in the international community. COGAT urged the United Nations to conduct an immediate investigation into the presence of terrorists in the area, highlighting the severe danger this poses to the safety of the logistics center and the continued protection of UNRWA's facilities.
IDF Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari commented:
"Today, we revealed unusual footage of armed terrorists next to UN vehicles, which we located a few days ago, and shooting inside an UNRWA compound in eastern Rafah. We forwarded the findings to senior members of the international community, and called on the UN to urgently investigate the connection between UNRWA’s logistics centers to Hamas operatives by their vehicles."
Targeted Strike on Hamas War Room in UNRWA School
In a related operation, the IDF and ISA, based on precise intelligence, targeted a central Hamas war room embedded inside an UNRWA school in Nuseirat. The war room, used by Hamas commanders, was struck with precise munitions to minimize harm to uninvolved civilians.
The war room had been a hub for planning multiple attacks against IDF troops in central Gaza over recent weeks. It housed Nukhba terrorists who participated in the October 7th Massacre and conducted ambushes and attacks on IDF troops in the Gaza Strip. The IAF strike resulted in the elimination of approximately 15 operatives from various terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip, including more than 10 Hamas members.
