Island Raises $175 Million in Series D Financing, Elevating Valuation to $3 Billion

Island, the trailblazer and leading player in enterprise browsers, has announced its successful completion of a $175 million Series D financing round. This latest influx of capital propels Island's valuation to a staggering $3 billion, marking a significant doubling of its previous valuation in less than a year. The financing round was spearheaded by Coatue, a new investor, along with continued support from existing investor Sequoia Capital, alongside contributions from other existing investors.

Having amassed a total of $487 million in external investment to date, Island's journey has been characterized by its distinctive value proposition and its momentum within the rapidly expanding enterprise browser market. Island introduced a pioneering product to the market in February 2022, emerging from stealth mode after two years of intensive technology development led by co-founders Mike Fey (CEO) and Dan Amiga (CTO). Since then, Island has garnered significant traction among enterprises of all sizes across various industries, boasting several Fortune 100 clients among its roster.

The Island Enterprise Browser represents a paradigm shift in how enterprises manage their workflow. By seamlessly integrating advanced security measures, IT and network controls, data protections, application access, and productivity features into the browsing experience, Island is revolutionizing the workspace. This holistic approach delivers substantial benefits for business leaders, IT security professionals, and end-users alike, facilitating secure access and heightened productivity across devices, locations, and networks, all while substantially reducing software and operational costs.

Gartner, in a recent report on the category, forecasted that "By 2030, enterprise browsers will be the core platform for delivering workforce productivity and security software on managed and unmanaged devices for a seamless hybrid work experience."

David Schneider, General Partner at Coatue, expressed confidence in Island's trajectory, stating, "We believe Island has built a product that meets the needs of CIOs, CISOs, and end-users simultaneously, delivering tremendous ROI across multiple verticals."

Doug Leone, Partner at Sequoia, emphasized Island's evolution into a dominant force within the cybersecurity and enterprise software landscape, remarking, "Island is now an established leader in one of the most exciting new categories in cybersecurity and enterprise software."

Mike Fey, CEO of Island, acknowledged the swift adoption of the Island Enterprise Browser by customers, stating, "We knew this would address critical pain points, but we’ve been thrilled at how quickly customers have adopted Island at scale."
