Nvidia in talks to buy Israeli AI infrastructure co Run:ai
Rumors value the size of the deal at "several hundred of millions, almost almost $1 billion"
Tech giant Nvidia is in advanced negotiations to acquire AI infrastructure orchestration and management platform Run:ai.
Run:ai helps companies execute on their AI initiatives quickly, while keeping budgets under control, virtualizing expensive hardware resources in order to pool, share and allocate your resources efficiently.
The company was founded in 2018, launching its first product in 2020 by Omri Geller and Ronen Dar. They met at Tel Aviv University, while working on their Master’s and PhD Degrees.
Rumors value the size of the deal at "several hundred of millions, almost almost $1 billion". Nvidia’s last acquisition in Israel was the purchase of Mellanox for $6.9 billion in March 2019. The company has 13% of its global workforce in Israel, making it the second largest development center outside of the US. Nvidia's market capitalization is currently around $2.2 trillion, up from $1 trillion just nine months ago.
