Seeking Jewish Physicians: Israel extends invitation to serve in its Healthcare System
With a goal of facilitating the Aliyah of 2,000 physicians over the next five years, the International Medical Aliyah Program provides medical professionals with a comprehensive range of resources, services, and personalized consultations, now available worldwide at various locations.
After the success of the US MedEx event on March 10th, Nefesh B'Nefesh inaugurated today its European MedEx in Paris, as part of the International Medical Aliyah Program. In partnership with Israel's ministries of Aliyah, Integration, and Health, this initiative endeavors to facilitate immigration for medical professionals, with a target of 2,000 physicians over the course of five years. Hundreds of French doctors attended the event in Paris. The program plays a crucial role in addressing the shortage of doctors in Israel, a challenge exacerbated by the country's rapidly growing population.
Nefesh B'Nefesh is a renowned organization dedicated to facilitating Jewish immigration to Israel, known as aliyah. Established in 2002, Nefesh B'Nefesh assists individuals and families from North America, the UK, and other English-speaking countries in navigating the complexities of relocating to Israel. The organization offers a range of services tailored to each stage of the aliyah process, including pre-aliyah counseling, assistance with paperwork and logistics, employment guidance, and ongoing support after arrival.
"The program, supported by The Marcus Foundation and other contributors, offers extensive resources globally," stated the organization. "Nefesh B'Nefesh has entered into a multi-year agreement with Israel's Ministry of Aliyah and Integration and Ministry of Health to establish an international initiative aimed at streamlining the immigration process for medical professionals, ensuring seamless integration into Israel's medical workforce upon their arrival. With a goal of facilitating the Aliyah of 2,000 physicians over the next five years, the International Medical Aliyah Program provides medical professionals with a comprehensive range of resources, services, and personalized consultations, now available worldwide at various locations."
Health Minister Uriel Menachem Buso said, "The Ministry of Health is spearheading major efforts to bolster our healthcare workforce through strategic national programs and congratulates our valuable collaboration with Nefesh B'Nefesh and the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration in this endeavor. Strengthening our health system with skilled professionals and experts in their respective fields is crucial, especially amidst the significant shortage of doctors in Israel. The national program we are advancing is imperative, and we are committed to streamlining bureaucratic procedures and expediting the absorption process into our healthcare system. I am confident that this program will enable us to fulfill our responsibilities and deliver a high-quality and timely medical response to all citizens of Israel."
